Manga Submission Guidelines

What we are looking for:

Crossed Hearts is actively seeking original manga submissions in various genres including shoujo, jousei, shounen and seiner. We accept one-shots, short series (unto 5 volumes), and long series (more than 5 volumes). Submissions should align with these genres be considered. 

Submission Guidelines:

When submitting your manga, please include:

  • A detailed pitch/query letter describing your manga plot and characters (mandatory).
  • The first chapter of your manga (mandatory). 
  • A summary of the first planned arc, and brief overview of consequent arcs (recommended). 
  • A brief artist biography (optional but encouraged).

We welcome submissions from both seasoned manga artists and newcomers. Ensure to include the genre, planned series length, and your name in the email subject line.

If your manga is still a work in progress, please indicate this in your submission. We consider signing mangakas’ based on pitched ideas and past writing samples, even before the work is complete.

Crossed Hearts also collaborates with artists for long-term partnerships for the development of its in-house stories. This is an opportunity for those who love to draw manga. If this is you, please email us at aurora@thecrossedhearts.com.

Novel Submission Guidelines:

What we are looking for:

Crossed Hearts is eager to discover and represent fiction in romance, fantasy, thriller, mystery, and adventure genres. We welcome submissions for short stories, mid-length novels (35,000 to 60,000 words), and full-length novels (60,000 to 100,000 words). Please submit your work only if it aligns with these genres. 

Submission Guidelines:

When submitting, please include:

  • A query letter/pitch with a brief synopsis of your work (mandatory).
  • Descriptions of main characters and their goals (recommended).
  • A summary of your entire story in less than 5 pages (recommended).
  • The first 3 chapters of your work.
  • A biography (optional but recommended).

We welcome submissions from both experiences and new authors. Clearly state the genre, book length, and your name in the email subject line.

If your work is incomplete or in progress, do mention this. We consider signing authors based on pitched ideas and past writing samples. even before the work is complete. We also accept pitches/submissions for public domain or previously published works. If applicable, please specify this in your email subject.

How to Pitch to Us:

Email your submissions to submissions@thecrossedhearts.com. Our response time ranges from 7 to 28 days. Rest assured, all submissions are thoroughly reviewed by our team of professional editors. If you do not receive a response within this timeframe, we encourage you to resubmit, as your email may have been inadvertently missed.
